Editorial Policy

Independence

Our editorial decisions are ours alone. No brand, agency or affiliate partner sees a story before it goes live or has any input on our verdict. We reject junkets that come with a coverage requirement; we accept press trips only where we retain full control over what we write, and we disclose them in the copy.

Sourcing

We report from first-hand experience where possible. Prices are sourced from operator websites at the time of writing. When we quote a fare, a room rate, a membership fee or a route, we name the operator and date the figure so you can check whether it's still current before you book.

Verdicts

We publish clear verdicts — "worth it", "worth it once", "skip it", "beats the alternative". We prefer specific over polite. A brand doing something well gets named; a brand overcharging or under-delivering gets named too.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, tell us at hello@collegehobbies.com and we will correct it, mark the correction inline, and — for material errors — note the change at the bottom of the story with the date.

AI and generative tools

Some background research is assisted by AI tools; every published story is written, edited and fact-checked by the the editorial team of College Hobbies No article is published straight from a model.

Diversity of experience

We travel as a two-person team with a specific perspective and we say so in the writing. Where our experience doesn't cover a reader group — accessibility, families with very young children, extended stays — we say that too, and we point you to specialists we trust rather than pretending we've done what we haven't.

Complaints

For complaints about a specific piece, email hello@collegehobbies.com with the URL and a summary of the issue. We reply within five working days.
