We started it because most of what we were reading about UK travel was either a listicle written by someone who'd never got off the train, or a hotel brochure with the word "hidden" pasted on top. We wanted an honest desk — first-hand reporting, specific verdicts, real prices, and a clear line between an editorial recommendation and an affiliate link.
